Llarrie Gale Nettum

Llarrie Gale Nettum, 73, of Naples, Florida entered the presence of his Lord and Savior in the early hours of June 27, 2020.  Born to parents Arvid and Celeste Nettum on July 14, 1946, in Grand Forks, ND.  Growing up on the family farm he learned the value of hard work and applied it to everything he did.  Llarrie graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1964.  He attended UND where he met and married his only love, Shirley Plaisance.  While at school and working they had their first child, Jeffrey Llarrie.  After graduation, Llarrie began his professional career as a cost accountant for LinkBelt Speeder Division in Cedar Rapids, IA.  There they had their second child, Rachelle Kay.  Eventually, moving to Coon Rapids, MN, Llarrie started Delserve, Inc., a development service company and transitioned into custom home building alongside his partner and wife in the twin cities suburban area.  Llarrie’s drive, sincerity, integrity and trustworthy nature earned him an award winning reputation for 34 years, building over 500 homes during his career.  

Retiring in Naples, FL, Llarrie was found every week on the golf course or on his boat on the inner-coastal waters.  He had a love for travel, red wine, a good americano and was intrigued by the beauty and uniqueness of a sunset.  Despite all his successes, Llarrie’s greatest pride was his family and his grandchildren who called him “Papa”  He would often be found playing on the floor or tossing them in their swimming pool and was never too busy to make a memory.  Llarrie had a gentle, kind spirit, was genuine in character and made everyone he met feel welcomed and valued.  He served his family and his Lord well.  

He is survived by devoted wife, Shirley, son Jeffrey (Leslie), daughter Rachelle (Joe), grandchildren Kaehla and Christian, brother Merlyn, and sister Patty.  He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Gabriel Joseph.
