Lois J. Chimbidis

Lois Ann Jones Chimbidis, 81, passed away September 4, 2018 peacefully, in the Avow Hospice Center of Naples, Florida. She was surrounded each day by her family. Lois was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1936; graduated from Wilson High School in 1954; and graduated from Youngstown University in 1959. She taught junior high in the Warren and Howland schools from 1959-1967. She and her husband, Louis E. Chimbidis, owned and operated the Kozy Korner Candies stores in Warren, Ohio, from 1980-1990; then she served as a bookkeeper for Rogers, Wood, Hill in Naples, FL, from 1993-2006. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Evan D. Jones and Alice (Cornett) Jones, of Youngstown. She is survived by her loving husband, Louis E. Chimbidis; her brother, David C. Jones of Granville, Ohio; her son and daughter-in-law Peter E. and Jennifer A. Chimbidis of Columbus, Ohio; her three beloved grandchildren, Elias (“Louie”), Jamey, and Nikos; her sisters-in-law Joanne (Chimbidis) Hovanic, Maria Chimbidis, and Antoinette (Doulou) Chimbidis; her brother-in-law Michael Boyazis; her nieces Helene (Chimbidis) Guzman, Maria (Hovanic) Snoddy, Gina (Boyazis) Parsonis, and Amanda (Hovanic) Klaholz; her nephews Everett Chimbidis and Spiro Boyazis; and, her cousins Susan (Domhoff) Hughes and G. William Domhoff. Lois will always be remembered for her astute intellect, her voracious love of books, and her dedication to family. Per Lois’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours, so, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the cancer research or Hospice charity of your choice.
