Louise Burgham (Lou), age 83, died on Saturday, May 26, 2019; with her family by her side. She died peacefully in her home with the help of hospice care.
Lou, the youngest of five children of James Vincenzo and Ann (Rotz) Tanferno, was born in Lowellville, Ohio. She was a 1953 graduate from Lowellville High School. She was known for her warm sense of humor and kindness.
In 1958, she married her lifetime friend and companion, Donald William Burgham, Sr. Lou and Donald celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary prior to Donald’s death in 2014. Louise devoted her life to her family and friends. She raised two boys in Lowellville and is survived by both sons; Donald Burgham, Jr., his partner Clayton Law and David Allen Burgham, his wife Beth Ellen (Miller), and grandson, Simon Henry Burgham. After her husband’s death, Lou adopted and rehabilitated a feral cat she named Holly who will remain in the family.
Lou is preceded in death by her father and mother; 3 brothers, Nick, Carmen and James; and sister Carnada (Hartman).
In 1994 Lou left her childhood home in Lowellville to retire with her husband in Naples, FL. Although she missed her friends and Ohio’s four seasons, Lou enjoyed biking and fishing with her sons and husband; the warm Florida weather and being with her grandchild, Simon, whom she adored.
