January 28, 1943 ~ November 14, 2022 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

Lynn Davison, 79, of Naples, Florida passed away on November 14, 2022. He was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Detroit, Michigan and Sandusky, Ohio.  He graduated from Ohio’s Miami University where he was a member of the DKE fraternity. During the summers, he worked at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio, where he met his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (aka Little Lynn), who was a quick sketch artist there. They were married on the park’s riverboat ride in the middle of a flood. Lynn always wore a little smile, and when his mouth would start twitching, they knew a joke was coming. Lynn was a positive man and he lived by his mottos: “Nothing matters very much, and few things matter at all, so enjoy everything” and “Life is short, eat dessert first!”  Lynn and his wife built their home in Golden Gate Estates where they have lived since 1976. He was interested in music, travel, and technology. He had a lifelong obsession with learning.  Lynn was a teacher in Collier County for 36 years. He taught elementary school starting in Everglades City, followed by Golden Gate Elementary, Poinciana Elementary, Avalon Elementary, and Tommie Barfield Elementary. He enjoyed being his wife’s studio assistant, building stretchers, helping to name the paintings, and offering critiques and suggestions. To help her organize her artistic works, he developed a computer program which he named “Artist’s Butler”, which became commercially successful with other artists. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughter, Megan Farmer; son, Jeff Birdsill; sister, Joella Shephard; son-in-law, David Farmer; grandson, Nicholas Farmer; his puppy, Penny; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Planned Parenthood or AVOW Hospice, Inc.
