Tribute

Marion Estelle DeLessio, 85, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2021 surrounded by her family at home. Marion was born on February 29, 1936 to Lillian and Charles Anderson in Brooklyn, New York. Marion was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Thomas and her son Dean. 

Marion graduated from Wellington C. Mepham High School in Bellmore, New York in 1953.  She married her best friend, Tom DeLessio in 1957. Shortly thereafter, the two moved from Babylon, NY to New Fairfield, CT where they raised their three loving children, Todd, Dean and Diane.

Marion enjoyed working as the church secretary for the New Fairfield Congregational church, where they met so many good friends.  She later worked at Union Carbide in Danbury, Connecticut as Marketing Coordinator for many years until they moved to Naples, Florida in 2000. During their time living in Naples, they met so wonderful friends at Cedar Hammock and Bentley communities. Marion enjoyed cooking for her family, arts, coloring & crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. Known by her grandchildren as Nanny, Marion loved to share stories of years gone by and her travels with Tom. The DeLessio’s loved to travel around the globe but were most happy at their beach house in Southampton, NY. Marion will be best remembered for her love for life, adventure, quick-wit, generosity, and ability to tell a great story. 

She is survived by her eldest son, Todd DeLessio, and his wife Danielle of Brookfield, CT, her daughter Diane Ravech of Naples, FL  and her fiancé Dave Roy of Stafford Springs, CT, and her grandchildren Sam Ravech, and his wife Hannah of New York City, and Max Ravech from Avon CT. Marion leaves behind her brother Charles Anderson, and his wife Terry of ,Freeport, NY, her sister- in- law Bernice Damuth of Virginia Beach, VA and so many beloved Anderson and Damuth nieces and nephews. 

Private family services honoring Marion and her son, Dean, will be held on Friday, January 7th. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to The First Presbyterian Church of Naples.
