Mark Anthony Young

Mark Anthony Young passed on March 11, 2019 at the age of 64 in Naples, FL. He was a devoted husband to Amy Young, a loving father of Shannon (Ronald) Martin, Lindsay (Bruce) Houston and Ryan (Audrey) Young, and a proud Pop-Pop of Brooke, Dylan, Justice, Kamron and Malia. Mark was soon to be blessed with his sixth grandchild in August. He is survived by his siblings: Susan (Kevin), Matthew (Annette), Michael (Cathi) and Melissa (Buddy) and he will be welcomed in heaven by his parents, Richard and Mary Clara, his uncles, and his niece. Mark was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but considered Sylvania, Ohio his hometown. He relocated to Florida in 1980, living in Cape Coral and Orlando before moving to Naples in 2001.

Mark was Vice President at Iberia Bank, a dedicated mortgage banker for 42 years, a hard worker who continued serving his clients until his final days. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing and shooting. His passion for movies and cars provided distractions from his battle with cancer. His family and friends, however, were the focus of his life, his greatest source of happiness and the reason he started each day with renewed hope and a replenished will to fight. Mark had many beloved friends from every phase of his life with whom he shared his most cherished memories. Mark’s love for his family surpassed all and laid an incredibly strong foundation to carry on his legacy. Mark accepted death in the same manner he confronted life, with grace and courage.

Services will be held at Saint Agnes Catholic Church on Monday, March 18th, at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mark’s memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center, which allowed him more time with his family, or Avow Hospice, which allowed him to pass in peace.
