Tribute

On an early Sunday morning, March 8, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother quietly passed away under the care of Hospice in Naples, Florida.  Martha, the daughter of the late Guy and Mildred Rothwell, was born in Canton, Massachusetts, on February 22, 1928. She is survived by her husband, Harold L. Pierce of Granby, CT and Naples, FL, her daughter, Nancy Stupak Maher and her husband, Robert of Granby, CT, her son, David Stupak and his wife Jill of Galesburg, Michigan, Harold Pierce, Jr. and his wife Alescia of Granby, CT, and Brian Pierce and his wife Maureen of Granby, CT.

Martha was the proud grandma to Matthew Maher and his family in Farmington, CT, James Maher and his family in Salt Point, NY, Susan Coffey and her family in Battle Creek, MI, Sara Stupak and her long-time boyfriend in Hong Kong, China, Michele,  Katelynne Pierce , Allison Pierce, Morgan Pierce and Daniel Pierce of Granby, CT. She was also proud of her six greatgrandchildren.  Martha is also survived by her two sisters, Shirley Rothwell of Stow, MA, Mary Fran Wattles of Cape Cod, and a brother, Paul Rothwell of Littleton, MA.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

This lovely woman attended Canton Schools in MA as well as Clark University in Worcester, MA. Besides spending time with her family, Martha liked long walks on the beach in Naples and Marco Island, knitting sweaters for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and boating with her husband and family in FL and Cape Cod.  Most of all, Martha took delight in what she always called her greatest achievement: watching her family grow and creating memories with them.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a date to be determined.  Donations can be made to Friends of Cossitt Library 388 North Granby Rd. N. Granby, CT 06060.
