Mary Lou Steffens (nee Maczko), age 80, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2018 in Naples, Florida. Mary Lou was born on December 31, 1937 in East Orange, NJ the daughter of the late Albert and Katherine Maczko. 

Mary Lou was raised in St Louis, MO and later moved to Glenview, IL where she raised her 5 children and had a successful career as a realtor. After settling in Naples in 1993 with her husband Donald Steffens, Mary Lou became a lively participant in many facets of the Naples community. She was an active parishioner at St. Ann Catholic Church, where she served as lector, wedding coordinator, and on the Liturgy and Arts Committee. She was deeply dedicated to Providence House, where she regularly assisted in and attended fund raising activities. In addition, she spent many enjoyable hours with her friends on the golf course, particularly at Foxfire Country Club. Mary Lou loved Naples and was always a gracious host when family and friends visited. Her spunk and zest for life will be dearly missed by all. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Steffens, son Walter O’Sullivan, Jr., and step-grandson Brent Bulmann. Mary Lou is survived by her children Julia O’Sullivan, Brian (Karen) O’Sullivan, Mark (Ingrid) O’Sullivan, and Patrick O’Sullivan; stepchildren Christine Bulmann, Catherine (Harry) Kropp, and Donald J. Steffens Jr; grandchildren Antonio, Clare, Kevin, Andrew, Maggie, and Kyle; step-grandchildren Kyle and Will; sister Nancy Benz, nephew Stephen Benz and niece Jane Ryan.
 
The funeral mass will be on Saturday, October 27th, 10:30AM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 935 3rd Street South, Naples, 34102.
