Mary Viken

Mary passed away Saturday morning June 3rd after a brief stay at Avow Hospice.  She was preceded in death by her parents Fred & Blanche Paul, and brothers Bill and John, and sister Helen.

She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from the Chicago Institute of Arts.  She had a great talent for painting in water colors and sculpting. 

For fifty-five years, she was a loving step-mother to Leslie, Holly, and Kurt.

She was a research director for advertising agencies and president of the Naples Women’s Ad Club.

Mary and her husband Howard hosted many tours and cruises around the world making many friendships along the way.  Mary loved playing bridge and was an excellent golfer but a “so-so” tennis player.

Throughout her 97 years, she received so much love and comfort from her Catholic faith.  Mary devoted time as a volunteer at the Naples Society for the Blind and as a volunteer at Physicians Regional Hospital for twelve years.

A mass of Christian burial at St. William in Naples will be announced in the near future.
