Tribute

Meri-Jac Christopherson entered eternal life on Monday, November 19th, 2018. She passed peacefully in her home with her husband Jeff near her side. She was 69 years old.

Born in Norwich, NY on December 13th, 1948 to Harold and Gladys Reddick.  She lived life as a child of a military family.  Both of her parents were proud members of the United States Air Force. She had fond memories of her time in England, Japan, and Germany.  Finally settling in Minot, ND where her father retired out of the Air Force. She always maintained her sense of patriotism and pride for our country. It is there that she met Erwin (Erv) Johnson

On May 23rd, 1969 she and Erv were married. Their union brought three children whom she loved deeply, into their lives. Jennifer, Tobin and Eryn were the light of her life.  Throughout their lives she taught them to love unconditionally, use great wisdom in decision making and encouraged them to be better people each day of their lives.

After many years as a stay at home mom, Meri-Jac decided to go back to school and get her nursing degree.  She received her BSN, RN, from Minot State University. She took her job to heart and was mindful of the needs of her patients while being aware of the needs of their families.  Her time as a nurse extended far beyond the walls of the hospital or any clinic. In her later years and after she retired, she spent much of her time volunteering at food pantries or in an elementary school helping first graders learn to read.

In August 2001, Meri-Jac married Jeff Christopherson at his farm in Wahpeton, ND.  A place they called home for 17 years. She took a teaching position at North Dakota State College of Science where she taught nursing classes. She continued her nursing career at Sanford Clinic as an anti-coagulation clinic manager. Between Jeff and Meri-Jac, they shared 13 grandchildren.  She loved each one of them with her whole heart and could not get enough time with them. Reading books, baking, playing games and getting their nails done were just a few of the things she enjoyed with her grandchildren.

Upon their retirement in 2013, Jeff and Meri-Jac found a love of traveling.  They purchased an RV and set off on a cross country adventure.  Eventually purchasing a home and wintering in Naples, FL.  Her love of the beach brought new friends and created new experiences for her and Jeff.  She was happiest when she was at the beach.  Her life ended in a place that made her most happy.

Her loving family includes her husband Jeff, daughter Jennifer (Ross) Walton, Colorado Springs, CO; son Tobin (Annette) Johnson, Plymouth, MN; daughter Eryn (Randy) Witt, Hartford, WI; stepdaughter Angie (Mike) Schreader, Perham, ND; stepson Jacob (Jill) Christopherson, Wahpeton, ND; sister Jenny Carter, College Station, TX; brother Rick Reddick, Dallas, TX; grandchildren Ava and Jack Walton, Mia, Max and Adam Johnson, Gavin and Griffin Witt, Sam, Lauren and Hadley Schreader, Aaron, Ryan and Joseph Christopherson and many nieces and nephews.
