Tribute

Michael O’Toole Ingoldsby passed away peacefully on March 3rd after a brief illness.

Mike was one of six children of Dr. Eugene and Mary Catherine Ingoldsby, born in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The family spent time between Altoona and their family farm in Carrolltown, Pennsylvania where a strong work ethic was instilled in him at a very young age. He graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School in 1964 and then attended college at Saint Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Economics in 1967 and MBA in Industrial Relations in 1968. Mike was an avid tennis player and captained the team at Saint Francis College. After he received his MBA, he enlisted and served in the United States Army Reserves in late 1968 and received advanced military training while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He completed his military service in 1975.

In 1971, he married the love of his life, Mary Lee Brady, who he spent nearly 50 years with.  Together, they created a wonderful life with their two sons, Michael and Patrick.  The family settled in Hingham, Massachusetts, spending many Summers at their house in Chatham.  Mike was the epitome of a family man. His sons could always count on him to be there in a moment's notice, to offer advice and teach one of many of his life lessons.  His unconditional help, love and support were never more than a phone call away.  He was an entrepreneur in every sense of the word, creating companies in various industries, including healthcare and personnel.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His close friends included many of his neighbors on Stagecoach Road/Hitchingpost Lane, many of whom he remained close with until his final days. Mike also enjoyed traveling with his family and friends. Popponesset, MA, Chatham, MA, Bermuda, Aruba, Italy and Ireland were some of his favorite places.  He was a devout Catholic. After retirement, he and Mary Lee moved to Ave Maria, FL and instantly fell in love with the community. They enjoyed going to daily Mass, volunteering, taking walks with their dogs, Hank and Betts, and spending time with their many friends. Mike was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Ave Maria.

He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Eugene Clark Ingoldsby and mother Mary Catherine (O’Toole) Ingoldsby.  In addition to his beloved wife, MaryLee, and two sons, Michael (Sarah) and Patrick (Christie), he is survived by his cherished grandchildren, Braden, Lily and Ashlyn, two brothers, Clark (Kathy) Ingoldsby and John (Anne) Ingoldsby, three sisters, Anne (Tom) Kapfhammer, Mary (David) Dunlap, and Cathy (John) Pavco and many nieces and nephews.
