Neil George Larson

Neil George Larson, 86, of Naples, died Monday, May 4, 2020, surrounded by family. Formerly of Kingston, NY, he had been a Naples resident for the last 20 years. He was born April 4, 1934 in Port Chester, NY, the son of George and Marguerite (née Stubbe) Larson.

Neil was in the US Marine Corp Reserves and a Private in the US Army in the late 50s and early 60s. He worked for Grand Union Family Market and the US Postal Service. Neil retired from Benedictine Hospital, after working decades as the Shipping and Receiving Manager. He was a lifelong Yankee fan and an avid collector of stamps and coins. He loved cooking, but found his greatest joy watching his grandsons grow up. 

Neil is survived by his loving daughter, Kim (Jim) Fortman of Naples, FL; two beloved grandchildren, Oliver Mey of Seymour, TN and Benjamin Mey of Naples, FL; step grandchildren, James Fortman and Naomi Fortman, both of Naples, FL; and his niece, Jane (Ed) Mulford of Brooksville, FL.

Neil was predeceased by his soulmate and best friend, Debby Larson. The family is comforted, knowing they will be together forever.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Avow Hospice of Naples, FL or The Parkinson Association of Southwest Florida.
