Norjean Ray

Norjean Ray  (ne'Donlin) 93,  of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on June 7,2017 surrounded by her loving children.  Mam, as she was affectionately known, was loved by all who knew her.  She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. In her day, Mrs. Ray  was an avid golfer, sailor and all around sports enthusiast. She loved Florida Gators Football,  Maryland Terrapin Basketball, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. 

Norjean Donlin was born to William and Margaret Donlin of Youngstown Ohio on April 20,1924. She attended parochial school and High school in Youngstown. She then moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked as an aide to Democratic Congressman Michael J. Kirwin of Ohio. She was married to Frederick Ellsworth Ray and raised four children.

She was pre-deceased by her husband and her eldest child Timothy Ray(Sheila).

Survivors include a son Terrence Ray and two daughters Tricia Ray and Tamara Douglass(Steve). Five Grandchildren, Bridget and Betsy Duncan, Matthew Ray, Timothy and Katherine Melhuish, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ray was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist parish in Naples, Florida.  A private Mass and burial will be held at a later date.  The family wishes to express its gratitude and deepest appreciation to Harbor Chase Assisted Living Facility for their kind care of our mother.
