Patricia B. Schanke

Patricia B. Schanke,94, of Naples, FL passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023. She was born June 16, 1929 in Fremont, OH to the late Bryron & Ruth Burkett. She and her family moved to Naples in 1969 where she began teaching. Mrs. Schanke taught elementary school at Seagate Elementary and then at Tommy Barfield Elementary.

She had a great love for life and serving others. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Dyches Storter Circle, Board of Florida Reading Association, past president of the Collier County Reading Association, Naples Optimist Club, former president of Opti-Mrs., member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, Naples Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the DAR.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Anne Lukehart of Pensacola, FL and Christine Ruth Sizemore of Naples, FL; 6 grandchildren, Michael Childs, Steven Childs, Ryan Sizemore, Alexandria Lukehart-Hamil, Lauren Reynolds, Lukehart and Amy Sizemore; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Childs, Theresa Childs and Ivy Reynolds and her brother, Richard B. Burkett of Fremont, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Schanke, her brother, Wendell Burkett; sisters, Ruth Oldham, Margaret Brown, Genevieve Hensley, Suzanne Burkett and Helen Creighton.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Rd. Her funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov 19, 2023 at 2:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 388 1st Ave. S. Naples.
