Richard Joseph Haberlin

Richard Joseph "Dick" Haberlin, 85, of Naples, FL died March 8, 2018. Formerly of Weston, MA and Marco Island, FL, Dick had been an area resident for over 37 years. He was born in Boston, son of the late Walter Francis and Mary Esther Brennan Haberlin. Dick graduated from Boston College High School, Class of '49. He went on to Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA earning his Bachelor's degree in 1953. He attended MIT and then graduated from UCONN with his Master's degree in 1957. He married the former Margaret Anne McMurrer that same year. Dick worked for Polaroid for twenty years. He began his construction career in Florida which continued until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed boating and golf; Dick was an avid sports fan.

In addition to his devoted wife of over 60 years, Margaret Anne, Dick will be dearly missed by his children, Margaret Mary (Patraic) Currey of Palm Harbor, FL, Karen Marie (Dale Krause) Haberlin of Chesapeake, VA, Deborah Marie (Daniel) Otero of Cincinnati, OH, Gail Maureen (Robert) Stephens of Mattapoisett, MA, Diane Mary (Kenneth) Samuelian of Belmont, MA, and Richard Joseph (Linda) Haberlin, Jr. of Ashburn, VA; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 16th, 2018, 11:00AM at St. Finbarr Catholic Church, 13520 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL 34114. Donations in Dick's memory may be made to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC or to the charity of one's choice.
