Richard W. Lawrence

Richard W. Lawrence, 82, of Naples, FL and formerly of Fitchburg, MA and Sandwich, MA, died on Sunday, March 26, 2023, after a long, courageous battle with vascular dementia. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. and had a successful career in several industries as an Accountant and Comptroller. He was very ethical and a hard worker. He was very proud and had fond memories of his military service in the United States Navy where he was a commissioned Gunnery Officer.

Richard was the kind, funny, generous and devoted father of Cheryl Sexton of Naples, FL, Brian and his wife, Jennifer Lawrence of Centerville, MA, and Karen and her husband, Scott Phillips of Bonita Springs, FL.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very loving grandfather to Christopher and Kaitlynn Sexton, Shauna and Brian Jr. Lawrence, and Ashley and Kaylee Phillips.  Richard leaves his beloved sister, Sheila Roy of Leominster, MA.  He was predeceased by his dear wife, Anne M. Lawrence in 2009; father, Albert Lawrence in 2002 and mother, Elizabeth Lawrence in 2013.

Richard had a wonderful sense of humor even in his final days and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Rd. Naples.
