Ronald John Sulewski, age 74, died suddenly and unexpectedly on September 14, 2022.
Ron was born to Martin and Juliet Sulewski on February 8, 1948, in Erie, PA. His sister Cathy Beachboard (Sulewski) joined the family when Ron was 16 years old and he was a doting older brother. He attended McDowell High School, where he played on the basketball team and was recruited to play in college.
In 1970, Ron received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of the Delta Phi Fraternity. Ron and his fraternity brothers, recently attended the Delta Phi House Grand Opening. Ron loved relaying stories of his college life and considered those friends his true brothers.
On June 30th, 1973, Ron married Marjorie Suehr. They raised five children, Kelly, Michelle, Ron, Dan and Steven across many different states. Ron and Marje recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. He was very devoted to caring and providing for his wife and family. His favorite time was when he was surrounded by his family.
Ron had a 52-year career in the railway sales industry starting at General Electric Transportation Shop in Erie, PA. He continued with GE in St. Louis, MO, then worked for Gardner Denver in Quincy, IL. He continued his career from Denver to St. Louis and finally to Naples where he worked for Rail Products International. He was a loyal and hardworking employee. He made many lifelong friends and was well-regarded by the railway industry where he continued to work.
In his spare time, Ron realized his dream of owning a boat and lake house in 2012 at the Lake of the Ozarks. His favorite time spent was boating with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Friends and family knew him best for his hard work ethic, kindness and welcoming nature. He was a father figure and role model for everyone he met. His other favorite hobby was sports. While he enjoyed all sports, he really loved playing basketball and went out every night to shoot hoops, even in his Naples pool.
Ron was an active member of the Catholic Church in each of his communities. He volunteered with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Martin, his mother, Juliet, and his sister, Cathy. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, and his five children, Kelly Proctor (Ryan), Michelle Nagrosst (Tim), Ron Sulewski (Colleen), Dan Sulewski (Elaine) and Steve Sulewski, and eleven grandchildren, Matthew and Sean Proctor; Sophia, Johanna, Emma and Noah Nagrosst; Harrison, Sloane and Palmer Sulewski; Ella and Ava Sulewski.
