Stephen Louis Losi

Stephen L. Losi, 64, of Naples, FL formerly of Bronx, NY,  passed away early Sunday morning, November 12, 2017 in Naples after an 8 & ½ year battle with lung cancer. Throughout the entire battle, his attitude was always, "what is the next thing we can do to beat this." And he didn’t stop fighting, even in the end.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Stephen graduated in 1976 from Fordham University with a B.S. in Economics and went on to obtain  a M.A. in Philosophical Resources, also from Fordham, as well as a MBA from NYU. While in hospice, Stephen told Father George, the degree that served him most throughout his entire life was the M.A. in philosophical resources.

While obtaining his M.A., Stephen taught middle school. Upon moving to New Jersey, he taught high school at Don Bosco. When his family began to expand, Stephen switched careers and spent the majority of it at Parsons Brinckerhoff as part of their mergers and acquisitions division. He retired in 2014.

Stephen is preceded in death by his father, Louis and mother in-law, Mary Ferraro (nee Damiani). He is survived by his wife, Janet (nee Ferraro); two children, Elizabeth and Adam; his mother, Gloria (nee Bertolini); sister, Barbara (Ermanno Coletti); nephew, Andrew; father in-law, Thomas Ferraro; brother in-law, Thomas Ferraro (Tatiana); as well as many loving cousins and friends.

Stephen was, in the simplest terms, the essence of what is right in humanity. A kind, caring spirit who loved his wife and family above all and dealt with everyone with honesty and genuine respect. His professionalism, kindness and good nature will be missed, but his life and actions will continue to inspire. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family and friends, but all will know their own lives are better for having known him.They are not dead who live in hearts they leave behind. 

Relatives and friends are invited to  attend a visitation for Stephen on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 12:30 PM- 1:30 PM in the Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Saint William Catholic Church, 601 Seagate Drive, Naples celebrated  by Father George Ratzman.

Since Stephen and Janet were married at Fordham, a Memorial Mass will be held at The Fordham University Church, 441 E. Fordham Road, Bronx, NY on Monday, November 20, 2017  at 12:00 PM. 

Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home, but please considering making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Stephen's honor, as this is the one cause the Losi's have supported for over 20 years. Stephen always believed children should never suffer.
