Sylvia Hart (Slavit) Warren

Sylvia Hart Warren, 94, of Estero, FL, passed away on February 26, 2021. She was born June 19, 1926 in Detroit MI.

Mrs. Warren is survived by nephew Stewart (Darlene) Ansteth; nieces, Jackie Lord, Tracey (Larry) Albert, Michelle (Michael) Florio, Stephanie Hart, and Lisa (Brian) Adams. She is also survived by great nephews, Scott (Molly) Ansteth, Bryce Albert and Grayson Albert; and great nieces, Lisa Ansteth, Sarah Lord, Chloe Adams and Alexis Adams. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Slavit in 1941 and her mother, Martha (Horowitz) Slavit in 1978; husband, Robert M Warren in1978; brother, David in 2008; and sister, Sharon in 2011.

Mrs. Warren graduated from Northwestern High School and then the Detroit College of Law, Class of 1950. She was appointed to position as Wayne County public administrator by Michigan Attorney General Frank Kelley in 1963 and held that post until retirement. She was involved with the Michigan Democratic Party throughout her life and was an Alternate delegate to the Democratic National convention in Atlantic City in 1964. She was the chairman of the Jefferson Jackson Day fundraising dinner in 1964.

Sylvia had a strong personality which served her well in the male dominated world of Law and Politics in the 60’s. She lived a long life on her own terms.

She was only married once for a short time to Robert M Warren, also an Attorney before an early and untimely death in 1978 at age 64.

There will be a small and private burial service only in the summer at Oak View Cemetery in Royal Oak, MI.
