Thomas “Tom” Dale Hartman, 69, died May 2, 2018 of natural causes in his home in Naples, FL. Tom was born on December 30, 1948 in Elkhart, IN to Clinton Willie Hartman and Vera Marie Klinger. Tom graduated from Elkhart High School in 1967, attended Purdue University, and graduated from Indiana University in accounting in 1974. He was an air traffic controller in the Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War. Tom loved life and could do almost anything. He built a TV, an airplane, a computer, and built or remodeled several houses. He flew airplanes. He played ping pong, tennis, golf, and could do 50 one-arm push- ups, clapping his hands in between. He was an accountant, sold insurance, owned and managed a Montgomery Wards store, worked at the Postal Service, did landscaping, and most recently worked at the Walgreen's on Tamiami Trail N. He helped his friends with their computers and all handy man jobs. His friends say he is now “ Heaven's Handyman”. Tom is survived by his daughter Katy Marie Hartman (husband Sean Michael McCrea), son Matthew Thomas Hartman, siblings Ann Wentz and Scot Hartman, grandchildren William Paul McCrea, Margaret Nola McCrea, and Eric Johannes McCrea, and by his dear friend, Becky Vitatoe.
