Timothy W. Furman

December 3, 1959 ~ October 2, 2022 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

Timothy William Furman was born December 3, 1959 and died October 2, 2022 after a 3 year courageous battle with cancer.

Timothy was born in Bloomington Illinois and came to Naples in the 60’s so he is a true Naples Florida native.  Timothy had a love of the outdoors that included fishing, surfing and hunting to name a few.  You could find him riding his bike to the Naples Pier and returning to his grandfather’s home in downtown Naples with a Snook in each hand.  You could see him taking his board down to the beaches on his bike and surfing when we had surfable waves.  He also went surfing in different parts of the country including Puerto Rico, California and many other travels thanks to his free spirit and great friends. He went out to different parts of Eastern Collier county duck hunting when times were simplier.

Along with his love of the outdoors he loved to do lawn maintenance. It was brutal hard physical work but Tim enjoyed that and also had a neverending knowledge of anything to do with plants, trees, animals, lizards etc.  You could always depend on him to know when to plant a plant or not, what type of bug or lizard that was and especially any animal of most any type.

Tim also had a love for talking to anyone about anything and he never shied away from a conversation whether it was a total stranger or someone he remembered from kindergarten.

Timothy met the love of his life Theresa Hobbs Furman in the mid 80’s and they were married October 28th 1989. They have two beautiful boys Tyler and Travis in addition to their nephew Brandon Lawson.  Tim was so proud of them and loved them very much.  They are the joys of his life and he shared his knowledge of the outdoors with them as soon as they were able to walk.  He took them fishing, hunting and boating when they were in diapers and they learned from a young age what this world is all about as to the outdoors. This influenced them to become the best person and men they could be.  Tim’s life  influence lives in them today, in all they do and believe in.

Timothy was a great husband, father, friend and overall gentle soul with a love for laughter, story telling and just pure calmness and joy for life.  His favorite place over the years was in Georgia at his cabin sitting by the fire with friends or by himself, there he was at his happy place even if it was a bad day of hunting.  We always said we could survive any type of apocalypse due to his outdoor hunting skills.  Georgia has lost an amazing man as well.

Timothy was preceded in death by his mother Karen Green Furman, father William Furman, sister Teresa Furman Lawson along with grandparents as well as aunts and uncles.

Timothy leaves behind and will truly be missed by his wife of 33 years Theresa Hobbs Furman, son Tyler Furman wife Stephanie granddaughter Harper ,son Travis Furman his “hunting partner”, sister and best fishing partner Terinda Furman partner Liz Most, brother Troy Furman, nephew Brandon Lawson wife Kellie daughters Reese/Emrie, niece Karren and Eric Rinehart son Waylon/daughter Cora, brother and sister in laws, Eric and Lisa Hobbs of Ohio, Phillip and Rhonda Hobbs of Ohio, Ronald and Lisa Hobbs of Bonita Springs along with many nephews and nieces here in Florida and in different parts of the country. In addition to many cousins, aunts and uncles.
