William "Bill" H. Hatcher

December 21, 1953 ~ January 3, 2020 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Tribute

Bill Hatcher, 66, of Naples, FL, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020. A life-long resident of Naples, he was born December 21, 1953 in Landshut, Germany, the son of Alton Brooksford and Maria Josephine (née Priller) Hatcher.

Bill's two favorite loves, aside from spending time with his family, were remote control airplanes and fishing. Bill was prominent in the RC community and known globally for his exceptional building skills.  People from all over the world would commission him to build for them. He was widely considered one of the best airplane builders in the world.

Anyone who had the honor of getting to fish with Bill, either on a serious fishing trip on a boat or a simple walk down the Naples Pier with a rod in hand would agree, he was an outstanding angler. His love for fishing was infectious and he was truly at his happiest fighting a snook or a tarpon in the gulf waters.

Although Bill was a world class airplane builder and an outstanding angler, he was most loved by those close to him for his kind and selfless nature. He didn't know how to say no when a friend or stranger needed his help or sought his advise.

Bill was preceded in death by his father Alton. He is survived by his loving sons, Bill Hatcher and Scott (Suzanne) Hatcher, both of Naples; his beloved mother, Maria Hatcher of Naples; brother and sister, Robert (Olga) Hatcher and Heidi (Tom) Yahl, both of Naples; five cherished grandchildren, Trent, Trinity, Will, Mason and Olivia; and his Tante Christa.

Visitation for family and friends will take place Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples.
