Jeanne Miller

Jeanne Miller, age 89, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2020, at her home in Naples, Florida after a courageous battle with cancer.  The daughter of Thomas and Nell Green, she was born on Friday the 13th in Frankfort, Kentucky.  This date turned out to be a lucky birthday her whole life.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Paul Miller, and is survived by three children: Beth, Jo Brooke and Scott, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Jeanne is also survived by two brothers: Dr. Scott Green and Dr. Donald Green and two sisters: Betty-Lynn Williams and Lisa Green.

While Jeanne lived, and made a difference, in many placed both on the east and west coast of the United States, she principally considered Louisville, Kentucky and Naples, Florida as home. Friends and family in each place remember the enormous impact of her force of character, intellect and compassion fondly.

A proud leader in every endeavor, Jeanne's impact across a wide variety of fields including advertising, public relations, media relations, real estate development and civic organizations were noteworthy.  Wherever she lived, Jeanne made a difference.

Those from her old Kentucky home, think of her when they go to the Churchill Downs Museum at the racetrack which she planned and implemented.  Few will forget the picture displayed there of her in a beautiful pink gown in front of Federal Hill, the iconic house in Bardstown, Kentucky in which Stephen Foster wrote the song "My Old Kentucky Home."  Her lasting impact is also seen in the improvements that were made to schools, recreation programs, hospitals and other state, city and county institutions across Kentucky with more than $2 billion in federal funds that Jeanne secured during her tenure as an administrative assistant to the Governor from 1968-1972.

For the last twenty-five years, Jeanne resided in Naples, Florida.  Well known as the Concierge of choice for all, whether at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Resort, the Registry Resort Hotel or in the Old Town Naples Concierge Kiosk, she had a creative solution for every patron, whether rich and famous or newlyweds pinching pennies.  Once they got advice, reservations or a dose of just plain common sense from Jeanne, they always came back for more!

Once again, a positive force for change in her community, Jeanne was one of the founding members of the Southwest Florida Concierge and Guest Services Association which has been promoting local and regional tourism since 1995.  Their motto of "In Service Through Friendship" epitomizes Jeanne's approach to life.

Most importantly, Jeanne Miller was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother in addition to being a trusted friend to so many.  Her corner patio at the Fairfax Club was always a gathering place, both in and out of season.  It was also a place that her children and grandchildren eagerly returned to year after year, no matter their age - always eager to see their Mimi.  Good advice, life lessons and much love were always in abundance and while she will be sorely missed, her indomitable memory will be with us forever.  We celebrate a life well lived.

Jeanne's ashes will be spread in the waters off Naples to join those of her husband Paul.  Her celebration of life will be held in Snowbird season 2021 in order to include all her family and friends.
