July 2, 1973 ~ June 26, 2022 (age 48) 48 Years Old

Tribute

Once upon a Time, a brilliant man named Lance G Garrison (GMD of the RPA, to his friends), was born. Most definitely a real player; assimilating; every day, all day, in every way.

Born to Denyse Garrison and Walter Barboza, with in the Little big city of Boston, Massachusetts on July 2, 1973. Arriving into this world with his beautiful brown eyes, and a gorgeous smile to boot! Lance is survived by Tanya Garrison, his loving wife of 15 years, and by four beloved children. Eldest Lance Garrison, 28 years old. Malik Ford, 24 years old. Teddy G-no Garrison,15 years old. And daughter Gina Denyse Garrison, 5 years old!

What to say about my beautifully complicated, yet so simple, man?

Love for his family and friends. That is what Lance exuded! I know for a fact he genuinely loved his children with a passion. Fiercely committed husband, father and friend! In hard times, G would be a shoulder many would lean on, Always there to listen and advise. And Lance G Garrison spoke his mind, of that you could be sure! He was born with the “gift of gab”, as Denyse would say!

Lance will definitely, be forever loved and missed dearly by so many. G is loved like a brother and father figure all over the world! Affirmed by speaking with his Xbox community of friends who have reached out to me with their individual well wishes and stories of how G has been a great role model, and always the voice of reason in their lives.

Lance was a man who loved all genres of music. “Old Blue Eyes” as his mother, Denyse, would often call him. From the first time we hung out, 17 years ago, he would play oldies that he loved like Frank Sinatra, and for sure rap and hip hop was his this. G loved to impress me with his number of recordings of himself rapping on hot beats! He was absolutely a hot Lyricist with a storyteller flow. His rhymes would be so full of knowledge, fitting for “Mr. No”. I always believed that Lance was so talented in many ways, he was my diamond in the rough!

Pops, as his sons Lance and Malik aka “Fingers” would call him, persistently strived to spend quality time with his kids. I know they meant so much to him. Lance always wanted his kids to do their best at all they strive to achieve, to be strong and pursue their dreams! G believed his sons to be truly talented, beyond his own measure! Praying they don’t accept less; when there is so much more for you out there in the world. Explore! Follow your respective paths on your journey’s.

Lance had always loved all of his children!

Lance and Tanya’s 15 year marriage fruited 2 pretty babies! Teddy and Gina brought so much light to the darkness that I never realized I was in! Together, Lance and I enjoyed so many Joyful moments- with Gina entertaining us with her Immense talent. Her beautiful dancing and singing kept Lance in a happy place mentally, especially as his health was failing him! Teddy is our brilliant boy, that can spin a basketball on his finger (since 3 years), loves music, just like his dad. Teddy is my 1st, and our love in solid form! Gina was our “miracle baby”, because, G always wanted a daughter! And through our struggles along our way, we found more and more love along the way!

In the Final months Lance was so strong mentally, and he never gave up on faith! G pushed himself and went to any and all medical appointment. Lance truly fought! He tried anything the doctors threw his way. My love, Lance/GMDRPA was committed to living a long, meaningful life, so his family would be happy, together!

That final day, June 26th 2022, GMDRPA/Pops/Sexy/Daddy/Lance played games on Xbox, and I’m sure he was winning at any game he played, per usual! (He was an amazing gamer, who shared his skills online and in person!) G enjoyed a little conversation with friends. Watching a final movie on his large screen TV, Lance waved and whispered a smiling Goodbye to his ever devoted wife Tanya (aka Munchkin) as she left for work, per usual. Not knowing that was our final encounter, I waved and blew him a kiss!
