Marlene K. Peters

Marlene K. Peters (nee Jackolet), 86, of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15th, 2022. Born on August 19th, 1935, in Illinois, Marlene graduated from Lyons Township High School and went on to graduate from Illinois State University in 1957. Graduating with a BA degree in Education, she started her career at Chippawa Middle School in Des Plaines, IL. For over 20 years Marlene helped educate America’s youth and many of her former students went on to achieve their educational and career dreams. It was here she met her second husband Donald W. Peters. Both Marlene and Donald shared the same educational experiences and in retirement moved from Arlington Heights, Illinois to Naples, Florida. There they spent much of their time golfing, traveling, and in the company of close friends they met at High Point Country Club in Naples.

Throughout her life she was an avid volunteer with organizations such as the Infant Welfare League where she worked closely with Connie Norwood, wife of former NFL Star Walter Payton.

Marlene was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever she went. She will always be remember for her eye catching smile, her unique ability to make friends instantly as well as, her ability for party planning which was a definitive competency for which she will long be remembered.

She is preceded by her father Walter Jackolet, her mother Katherine Denker (nee Reinert), her husband Donald W. Peters, and stepfather Melvin Denker.

She leaves behind her brother Robert (Rob) Denker of Naperville, IL, nephew William (Bill) Denker of Chicago, and niece Lisa Denker of Oak Park, IL.
