August 17, 1935 ~ June 23, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Charles Robert "Bob" Mueller, IV, 81, died peacefully at his home on Marco Island, FL on June 23th, 2017. Born August 17th, 1935 in Detroit, MI, he was the second son of Louis E. and Nona (Caldwell) Mueller. Known as Bob, Chuck, Bobby, Precious or Krazy Kowalski to his family and many friends, he loved his life and felt very blessed to have lived the life he had. He graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in January, 1954. After graduation from high school, he spent two years in the U S Navy where he was a jet engine mechanic.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, he came home where he married Phyllis, the girl across the street, He then went to work at the family business established in 1874 as a machine shop and industrial knife sharpening business. By the time Bob retired, the business also expanded into the ice resurfacing business as a supplier to various ice rinks around the country.

Bob loved his family and time spending time with them was always a priority. Whenever possible he was involved in organizations that allowed him to be with family. This included the San Gioviani Bastista Society and most importantly, the Grosse Pointe Hockey Association where he was both a board member and a hockey coach for his sons' hockey teams.

Anyone who knew Bob knew his passion was boating. This passion lead to his involvement in the Clinton River Boat Club in Michigan, where he was Commodore. He was an active member of the Power Squadron in Michigan and on Marco Island he was the Boating Safety Instructor and a boat inspector. He served as Master of Ceremonies for the annual fund raiser for the Marco Island Sail & Power Squadron. He was the Power Squadron's first web master as he got their first web site up and running.

Most Sundays you could find Bob ushering the first mass of the day at San Marco Catholic Church. Afterwards, you would find him at a local Marco Island restaurant eating breakfast with friends. Friends and family knew that whenever Bob was around a good time was to be had by all. He was always smiling, laughing and had a story ready to tell.

Bob will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann (Boccia) Mueller; three children, Leigh Ann (Eric) Eshelman , Charles Robert (Sharon) Mueller, V, James Louis (Renee) Mueller; five grandchildren, Patrick Wayne Eshelman, Kristen Meredith Eshelman, Matthew Gerald Mueller, Michael Robert Mueller and Daniel James Mueller. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest G. Mueller.
