Emory Charles Geller

Emory Charles Geller, born in Akron, Ohio, in 1933, passed away December 13. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna; dear children, Scott (Jennifer), Mark ( Sema), and daughter, Beth (Lawrence) Greenberg, as well as treasured grandchildren Lindsay, Ava, Levi, and Kai. He was predeceased by his son, Randy, and his grandson, Jeffrey. Always fascinated by cars at his father’s used car dealership, he worked there after school all through high school and college. When he was discharged from the army finance corps in 1957, it was natural for him to go into that business. Given the opportunities, Emory was able to garner franchises for Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and for a while, British Motors. Known for his motto of trustworthy dealing, he ran the business for 40 years, the last nine with Randy, until they sold it. Emory served as president of the Akron Auto Dealers Assn., as well as on the board of the Ohio Auto Dealers Assn. His picture appeared in Time magazine as an outstanding dealer of the year nationally. He enjoyed many travels, as well as bridge, golf and tennis in his retirement. His countless contributions as the Finance Committee Chairman for the Pelican Landing Community Assn. for many years will be remembered for the lasting effects on many amenities the community offers. He was proud of his achievements, and of the high caliber people with whom he served. He will truly be missed by many. Services will be held at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, FL on Sunday December 17th at 11am.
