Richard Joseph Jurek

Richard (Dick) Jurek, 91, passed away peacefully December 10, 2017.

Dick was born October 24, 1926 in Buffalo, NY.  It was there that he met and married his wife, Rita and moved to Isles of Capri, Florida with their four daughters in 1961. They shared 68 years of marriage together. Rita passed earlier this year; they will now share their home in heaven for eternity.

Dick and Rita owned Isles of Capri Construction where they proudly built homes throughout the island and county. Once retired, they spent their summer months in Little Switzerland, NC where they own a home to present day.

Dick was an avid hunter and outdoorsmen traveling through the Western U.S., British Columbia, Canada, and Alaska on numerous trips with family and friends. Those who knew him would agree he was always cheerful and smiling and had a great story or joke to tell. He was unlike anyone you ever met. He will be missed by so many.

Dick cherished his 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and was a big part of their lives. He is survived by his four daughters, Judy (Ken) Goll, Lynda (Steve) Belyea, Janice (Ed) Posch, and Diane Burger. He is preceded in death by son in-law Mark Burger.
