The first thing I remember when I met Uncle Walt was his laugh. He had a laugh that could fill the entire room and then some. You could always count on him being upbeat with an easy joke ready for telling--even when it was "inappropriate" for tender ears. As a kid I loved visiting Uncle Walter and Aunt Lenore. They were both such warm, loving people, even if I didn't like the smear of lipstick Aunt Lenore was bound to leave on my cheek. Some of my favorite memories were of sitting in a nearby room watching TV while the grownups played cards (raucously) in Walter and Lenore's dining room. I felt safe and loved, knowing that where there was that much laughter and joy, harm could never come to me. That is what I will always remember of Uncle Walter--his laughter.

I am grateful to have been Walter's niece. He was generous, kind, and honorable man, in addition to being a proud and loving husband and father.. Walter brought laughter to many with his jokes and antics. He challenged others with his steadfast political beliefs. My Uncle Wally was someone who never shied away from plain-old hard work whether it was his job, cards or his garden. I have so many cherished memories of Walter as do both of my daughters. Keep 'em laughing and smiling in heaven Wally....we know you are in God's loving care now with Lenore by your side.

Sincere condolences to my dear best friend Marian of 53 years and her sister Barbara. May you both keep the memories of your Mom and now your Dad close to your hearts. Just reading the way people are describing Walter it sounds a lot like you . He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and love of family and friends. I remember a hard working man .. living on Carolina Drive... always washing his cars and taking care of his beautiful lawn! Full of pride and life! May you both hold him close to your hearts where he will always remain. Rest in Peace Walter as you join Lenore and your loved ones.
❤️🙏Vivian

I knew Walter when he was living here in the Northeast. He was quite a man and seemed to be so jovial all the time.. His two beautiful children Barbara and Mariam have
been very caring. I was sorry to see Walter and his wife move to Florida. He will be missed.
